cs_centre is a custom map developed for the hostage variation of CS:GO's competitive game mode. The initial concept was to design a balanced map where one team's spawn area was directly above the other team's. Through playtesting and collecting feedback, the map's major design issues stemmed from this central conceit. With significant issues relating to the timing at which the teams could reach certain areas of the map. Additionally the multifloored design of the map resulted in some positional audio being misleading for players, an issue which notoriously affected previous iterations of the official CS:GO map Vertigo.
As such active development on cs_centre was scrapped in favour of other projects being worked on at the time.
However player feedback indicated that areas of the map such as the ramps and hostage rooms provided interesting gameplay scenarios. Some of these area designs might be reincorporated into future projects and explored more fully.
